The menu changes daily using the freshest ingredients brought in the early hours from Birmingham market. Our head chef Anthony provides a menu that features fresh meat, fish and game in season, sauces lovingly prepared and reduced for days, delicious desserts….all complimented by an interesting and well thumbed wine list!
We specialise in fish and seafood and Anthony’s home smoked salmon has been heralded as being amongst the best in the Country! The beef is personally selected by Mr Spencer from certified producers ensuring that it is of good formation from a mature animal and is suitably marbled. It is then brought to the restaurant and hung for a good period to ensure its tenderness. We frequently serve Welsh lamb which we find has sweetness unparalleled by others. Desserts are indulgent and varied or choose from our cheese board with a great selection of English and Continental varieties. Some of the fruit and vegetables come from our very own Victorian walled kitchen garden which is going through a steady but sure period of regeneration!
Wine List
Much thought has been put into our wine list to provide interest, variation and good value. We have recently included a far greater selection of wines by the glass to either tempt the palate or please the drivers in the party!! (We do not publish our wine list on line, however if you have a booking with us and wish us to send you a copy for perusal please do not hesitate to ask).
We operate three intimate dining rooms all with an individual style and atmosphere: The Red Room, Yellow Room and Middle Hall. Each can be hired out privately for family parties or private business dinners (for terms and conditions and more details for this facility please click here).
Sunday Lunch
Holding a reputation as the best Sunday Lunch in the county, booking is essential! Here tradition reigns supreme and a convivial family atmosphere abounds. Children are welcome.
If staying in the hotel breakfast is a must with our home made sausages, home cured bacon and home smoked salmon, in house jams and home made bread. Indulge at your leisure!! (We sell some of our products…please contact reception whilst at the hotel or restaurant). |
