Take advantage of this unique package at Callow Hall Hotel and enjoy two evenings’ stay, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at the hall combined with a day’s cycle hire to discover the local area.
Callow Hall is ideally situated for exploring the neighbouring Tissington Trail Cycle Route. Cycles will be organised at the start point of the trail on Mappleton Road and ready for your collection on the Saturday of your stay.
The Tissington Trail was one of the last Victorian railways – it opened in 1899. The purpose of the route was to supply milk to London and in addition to this several quarries were opened along the track sending limestone to the industrial areas. The Trail was created after the closure of the railways in 1967, although spectacular features of its former use still remain.
The Tissington Trail runs for a length of around 15 miles and stretches from the Mappleton Lane start point (Ashbourne), until Parsley Hay. The trail also joins the High Peak Trail at Parsley Hay. This can be followed to Carsington Reservoir.
